Support Shane's Journey to Independence

Hi Friends, I’m Shane and I could use your help.

In November 2023, my life changed when I had my first episode of Ménière’s Disease—a chronic condition that causes vertigo, hearing loss, and serious balance issues. On my worst days, it feels like the ground is moving beneath me and the world is spinning uncontrollably. It’s unpredictable, exhausting, and has forced me to re-learn how to live life day by day.

For a long time, I tried to push through on my own. I told myself I was fine. But eventually, it caught up with me—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Depression crept in, and I had to face the truth: I couldn’t do this alone anymore.

Over the past year, I’ve been rebuilding my life piece by piece—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s been hard, but it’s also been healing. I’m finally learning how to live differently, not just survive.

And now, I’m ready to take the next step—with the help of MobilityDog.Org .

MobilityDog is an amazing nonprofit that trains service dogs for people with mobility challenges. I’ve been accepted into their program and matched with a dog who will be trained to help me with balance, stability, and everyday mobility support. This isn’t just a helper—it’s safety, freedom, and the chance to move through the world with confidence again.

To make this possible, I need to complete handler training, which includes:

Training sessions with MobilityDog’s service dog trainer and supportive team

Travel to and from the training site

Temporary housing and an emergency vet care fund during the program

This partnership is the final piece in the life I’ve been working so hard to rebuild.

If you can donate to help me cover these costs, I am endlessly grateful. And if you can’t, sharing this with others would mean the world to me. Every bit of support brings me closer to walking forward—literally and emotionally—with a loyal partner by my side.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping me take this next step.

With Love and Gratitude,
Shane
