Let me unpack that, so you can get as a clear a vision of what happened as I can tell you. We recently signed a lease with our landlord that was month-to-month. Three weeks after we did this, we were given notice that we had to leave the property.
This was not the easiest news to take. My brother is disabled and cannot find work. A month and change is not an easy time frame to find an apartment in, as I'm sure many of you can attest. But I'm left without much choice.
This is not the route that I wanted to take, but I'm left without much choice. Securing an apartment requires things like security deposits, first month's rent due up front, and more. I don't have much money to my name, and this is a time frame where one large fee can derail the entire process of getting an otherwise perfect apartment.
I realize, as I'm writing this, some of you have known me for years. Some of you may only know me through a friend of a friend, and I may just be a stranger whose post flashes by your Facebook wall for the first time. Know that I would not be doing this unless the situation was as dire as it is.
I'm asking $3000 to cover the things that I cannot. Application fees, truck rental, gas, boxes, and hiring help to move things. The clock is running, and I need all the help I can get.
