We were in the middle of a once-in-a-lifetime dream vacation to Playa del Carmen to celebrate Emma's 72nd birthday, when in the middle of the night she passed out in the bathroom and hit her head on the marble floor. She laid unconscious for several minutes. We found out later the impact had fractured the back of her skull as well as her nasal cavity.

 

She has since been transported to an ICU in Cancun, but her condition seems to be getting a little worse each day as they have found brain hemotomas (bruising) and swelling. We are trying to get her home to Utah as soon as possible so she can get better care. There's a chance she'll need surgery to reduce the pressure, and if that's the case, we want her back in the U.S.A.

 

We have contracted an AirMed flight, but it's going to cost $45,000 out of pocket as medical air transportation is not covered by insurance.

 

 

 

 

As you can imagine, it's been very hard on Clark to deal with all this in a small Mexico hospital where the doctors only speak broken English. While Clark told us not to ask others to help, we are disobedient children. A LOT of people have asked how they can help, and since my parents are always so giving, we thought we would allow their friends and family to give back. Donations are very much appreciated and will help alleviate the stress of having to pay the mounting medical bills, but more than your money - WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS!
