Oscar's Half Marathon fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust
I'm running the Crystal Palace Half Marathon in April to fundraise for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
I used to run regularly and finished the London Marathon in 4:28:00 just before the pandemic. I've been meaning to get around to doing this for a couple of years but a personal experience motivated me to choose the Teenage Cancer Trust, and to get running regularly to try and support them through a fundraiser.
Last year I was abroad and got a call from my Mum telling me that a friend I'd known since Primary School had died from cancer. He was 25.
I've lost loved ones to cancer and I know we will all have a personal story of pain and suffering from this disease. Yet there was something uniquely unjust about this loss that stuck with me.
Every day, seven young people in the UK aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”. Teenage Cancer Trust provide specialist nursing care and support to get them and their families through it. I'd be incredibly grateful if anyone could sponsor me and donate
