Help our sweet Malakai
Donation protected
This is Malakai. He was born at 26 weeks gestation on December 4, 2015 in Phoenix, AZ at Banner University Medical Center. Malakai has a rare condition called Arthrogryposis that occurs in 1 out of every 10,000 births. It is characterized by contractures in the joints, meaning there is a stiffness or constriction in his wrists and ankles. He will be staying in the NICU at Banner at least until he is full term 40 weeks gestation which will be in mid March.
Malakai has 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and 2 parents that are anxiously waiting to bring him home. Mom works hard to support everyone and dad stays at home with the kids and is working to complete a graduate degree. This account was set up so that mom and dad could afford to spend as much time with Malakai as possible while still providing for his brothers and sisters. It is also to update his family and friends on his condition and progress. All donations are greatly appreciated no matter how big or small. It all helps mom and dad to put gas in the car, or pay a babysitter, or pay a bill to allow mom to spend less time working so that they can both visit Kai more often. Prayer, positive thoughts, energies, vibes etc. are also very important and very much appreciated. Please keep Malakai and his family in your thoughts and prayers, and rememeber to check back for updates on him.
