Final Medical and Funeral Expenses for Paul DiBaro

Donation protected
Paul DiBaro Jr., passed away on June 9th, 2023 at the young age of 36 after a valiant battle with metastatic chordoma. Paul demonstrated unwavering courage and strength as he fought his cancer for nearly ten years with his wife, Abbigail (Paquin) DiBaro by his side the entire time. Paul was diagnosed in 2014, two years after meeting and falling in love with Abbie.

Abbie was his number one supporter, and together they never lost sight of their future. He was determined to live fully and beat cancer. Paul and Abbie bought their first house together in 2016, got engaged in 2017, and were happily married in 2019.

Over his almost ten year battle with cancer, Paul was optimistic and maintained his funny and sarcastic sense of humor through all the challenges he faced. He underwent seven surgeries, many rounds of chemo, radiation, targeted therapy, and clinical trials in hopes of treating his rare illness. He wore a smile often and found joy in his friends, sports, and traveling.

Paul had an incredibly strong work ethic and was proud of his job at Complete Heating and Air Conditioning where he worked as an HVAC tech. Although he qualified for long term disability in 2014, Paul decided to go back to work as soon as he healed from his initial surgeries. When he couldn’t work as hard physically, Paul made every effort to take on other roles in the company’s office, learning new skills to continue working.

Paul and Abbie were financially responsible, keeping up with massive medical bills, fixing up their old home to build equity, and both working full time jobs all while commuting to and from Boston almost daily for weeks at a time over the years. Even with health insurance, they accumulated many out of pocket medical expenses. Paul was a young, single, healthy man when he was diagnosed and did not yet have life insurance. Today, Abbie’s friends are seeking financial support to help her offset the remaining medical bills from the last year including his final two week stay in the hospital as well as funeral expenses. If we beat our goal, any remaining funds left after paying final expenses will be donated to The Chordoma Foundation in Paul’s memory.
