To Be Cancer Free!

Hi Everyone, October 22, 2018
On Oct 2nd, 2018 I had an appointment with my Oncologist to get the results of my latest MRI. My Oncologist said the terminal brain tumor I have is now about 1/8th of an inch long – 4 years ago it was the size of a golf ball. She was very happy with the results – so was I!!
My next appointment is now 6 months from now on April 2nd, 2019.
Financially, I am living so close “to the bone” (poverty level) it is not funny. I don’t enjoy being on disability, it is a very very limited life experience. Last year I made $16,000 – not very much to live one. My rent is now going up to $1,205 in December 2018 for a bachelor. I have recently put my name on a BC Housing rent wait list (cheaper rent).
Thank you so much to those who have financially contributed to my Go Fund Me Campaign. Every dollar I receive makes a profound difference.

Hi,
My name is Dave Abbott. I am a 60 year old man who grew up in a small town called Boston Bar, moved to Gibsons and I now live in a small bachelor apartment 5 blocks from the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver, BC Canada.
Just about 4 years ago (Sept 2014) I was diagnosed with having a brain tumor, a brainstem glioma. I was told by an Oncologist, the tumor is aggressive, inoperable and terminal. I was given 3 to 12 months to live!!
The tumor was the size of a golf ball.
I have since received 15 radiation treatments and 20 months of oral chemotherapy and have been in remission since November 2016.
All the money I had including my locked in RRSP’s which I got access to because of the terminal diagnosis, went to making huge lifestyle changes like losing 70lbs of excess weight; dropping my blood pressure from 180 over 100 to 118 over 74; eating only organic food, buying certain supplements and paying all my bills and rent which is now $1155 a month for a bachelor.
As of June 5th, 2018 my last oncology appointment, the tumor is so small it can’t be measured. My Oncologist thinks it’s just a few millimeters across. I AM SO CLOSE!!!!!
However, I have just run out of my money and am now relying on the Government, my small pension ($206/MONTH) and a BC Housing rent subsidy. I am barely scraping by. I can’t work because what’s left of the tumor is still affecting my balance and my eyesight. I will sometimes see 2 images instead of just one. I haven’t driven a car in almost 4 years because of the vision problem.
I don’t smoke or drink. I now force myself to eat 2 meals a day instead of 3 to save money. I take supplements when I can afford them.
MY DREAM
My Dream is to be CANCER FREE!! I must maintain a very healthy lifestyle and I need organic food and certain supplements to do that.
The money will be used to maintain a very healthy lifestyle for 1 year and pay all my bills so that I don't become a burden to my family at any time. If for whatever reason the tumor begins to grow again I will go back on the oral chemotherapy.
I can't do this without your support!
Please help me be cancer free!.
With much thankfulness and gratitude!!
Dave
