Going Home

My name is JB Piernas Jr., I’m from Pass Christian, Mississippi. I’m an Army veteran and I’ve created this campaign to produce my first short film. Going Home is one of the many short films I wrote at the New York Film Academy. In 2009, I was medically separated from the Army, after my third deployment. Since then, I have used my G.I. Bill to attend Theatre of Arts (for Acting) and the New York Film Academy (for Directing). Due to covid, this project has been on hold for more than two years. Now is the time to make it happen.

Going Home shows what some families go through when one of their loved ones is deployed and they cannot get in touch with them. We have all seen what the soldiers endure, but we rarely see their families' stress and mental anguish. This short film takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions to show you what their lives are like on this particular day. Going Home was inspired by a series of events from my own family.

The funds will be used to produce this film. On behalf of the entire cast and crew, I want to thank you for your continued love and support.
