Kailen is one of the sweetest and happiest children you could ever meet. As his mother, I give my all to love, nurture, and protect both he and his sister. With that being said, it pains me to disclose that my son has been hospitalized from sustaining 2nd degree burns. These scalds cover 30% of his inner thigh, and as the days have progressed his wounds have deepened. Because of this Kai must undergo excruciating surgical scrapings twice daily. In short, my son is suffering.
The upcoming days will determine if he needs skin grafting. The physical therapist is working with him and Kai tries his best to smile through the pain. I am taking time away from work to stay with him in the hospital and asking my family and friends for financial assistance while I care for my son. I thought being diagnosed with breast cancer was difficult, and I can never repay the outpouring of support I received during that time. But watching my son suffer is unbearable, I truly hope we can gather together to support my baby.
This is not how I wanted to discover I could not protect my kids at all times, but I have to trust that God will see him through. If you can not give, please remember that prayers are worth more than gold. And please, please, please remember to SHARE this link.
