Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, I am reaching out from my husband's phone, as my phone is not functioning.

Myself, my husband, Patrick, my 12-year-old cat, Frank, and most importantly, my precious 11-year-old daughter, Maddy, are in great need at this unbelievable time.

We have been devastated here in Asheville, NC by Hurricane Helene, just a month after moving into our new home. We have lost most everything due to the storm. We poured our savings and retirement, heart and soul into relocating to Asheville. It's been a 3-year, well-thought-out plan, hoping for a better life with no snow!

Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene decided to hit Asheville right after our arrival. The hurricane has left our apartment uninhabitable, with no water, power, WiFi, or school for our daughter.

My husband works remotely, and I had been actively searching for work, but obviously have not had any luck yet.

We had to flee to a motel in Charlotte, NC, but our funds have nearly run out. We won’t be able to stay here much longer, maybe a day or two.

Maddy is out of school indefinitely, which adds to the stress of this already overwhelming situation.
