A New Life After Hurricane Dorian
Donation protected
Hurricane Dorian raged through Abaco Island in the Bahamas, sending hundreds of families from their homes seeking shelter during the eye of the storm. Upon their return, they couldn’t believe their eyes. It looked like a bomb hit the entire area. Roofs, ceilings, walls all gone, debris everywhere, cars and furniture tossed about, no food or water, and personal items just disappeared. Thousands of people only left with the clothes on their backs. Many families fled to Nassau and found refuge; four families that we know personally made their way to Florida with almost nothing.
We are blessed to have the opportunity to personally support four of our close friends and their families who have lost everything. I have personally assisted these families in the form of airfare, clothing, transportation, food and living expenses since they've settled here in the United States. The relief and rebuilding efforts post-Dorian are extensive, but this is an opportunity for you and others to directly impact the lives of these families who have lost everything and desire to continue their life here in our great country.
Your contribution will go directly to supporting the basic needs (food, shelter, transportation) of these four families who are desperately trying to obtain work permits from the US immigration system.
I have personally set up a separate checking account and I will personally withdraw funds as needed to pay the rent each month for their apartments in Florida. I will also disburse money directly to the families for weekly groceries, rental car and personal items as needed.
This is a plea and an opportunity to help provide financial assistance to good people who find themselves in a very unfortunate circumstance.
We thank you in advance for your consideration and contribution.
Thankfully,
Gary & Patty Holloway
