Hello everyone, it's Jessica..

November 18 I rushed Ben to the hospital as he was having pain in his chest and legs. They did a CT scan and revealed he had a pulmonary embolism. Unfortunately that CT scan also revealed cancer. He had a liver biopsy and our worst fears were confirmed. Ben was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 colon cancer. It has reached other areas of his body. He spent 4 days in the hospital to get the blood clots under control. Fast forward a week and we went to his first oncologist appointment to set up treatment. On the way home from the Drs he started feeling cold and developed a fever and trouble breathing overnight. Thursday morning we went back to the ER where they did blood work and revealed he had a blood infection, more than likely from the tumors in his colon. They did an ultrasound of his heart and they saw something. So they transferred us to Jefferson Philly for additional testing. We will have that test tomorrow morning.

As of right now, Ben is fighting for his life. He is awake but he is in incredible pain and is terribly tired and in a state of delirium. We are awaiting results from the MRI of his brain and we will be seeing Neurology soon. Every test we have seems to make his prognosis worse. We are going to be running into financial problems with all the medical bills and our regular monthly bills. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please continue to pray and send all the good vibes to Ben and his family. This is an incredibly difficult time for us.. as of now it doesn't seem he'll be coming home anytime soon but keeping up the positive attitude. Thank you all for the prayers that have been sent. My head is a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions but I've learned that I HAVE to take it one day at a time. I have to remain strong for him.
