I have mixed feelings about setting up a gofundme account, but I don't have mixed feelings about my sweet Apollo. He is my lifetime dog, the great love of my life. He saved me from total despair when I lost my Daisy girl in 2010. When I wanted to stay in bed and hide, he wanted to go out and explore the world. Together we became part of an extraordinary community of friends in Portland and Tacoma, hiked as many trails as we could in the Pacific Northwest, and snagged ourselves a husband and father at the Fort Steilacoom dog park.

I have always believed that caring for such a magnificent creature is a privilege, and I don't take that lightly. As he saved me, now I am trying to save him. What we originally believed to be cancer is actually severe pneumonia. Treatment is costly, and involves days in the hospital in an oxygen chamber with intense antibiotics.

Matthew and I have plans of starting fertility treatment this summer, which is costly, in the hopes of adding more love to our family.

Any donation you can make towards helping Apollo would be deeply appreciated. Our hearts have been heavy since he has been sick, but we now have a small Ray of hope.
