Random Act of Violence

My name is Nicole. My husband, my 3 small children, and I live in Atlanta. On Wednesday evening 10/20, my husband was the victim of a random act of violence. He was shot in the upper left thigh by a 9mm hollow point. The bullet missed his femur and femoral artery by a millimeter. As a result of this violence my husband is unable to stand or walk without assistance. This is devastating for our family as he is the patriarch or "the alpha" of our little pack. As one could imagine, the medical bills are insurmountable. We have 3 small children to feed and somehow keep a roof over their heads. To add insult to injury, we now have to seek legal counsel for negligence at the hospital and racial profiling from the local police department. We've filed a formal complaint with the police department who questioned my husband(while he lay bleeding out on a gurney) as a suspect and confiscated his identification and cell phone. They refused to return his belongings until he cooperated with their investigation that was completely unrelated to his shooting. We are beyond exhausted, frustrated, and humiliated by this entire ordeal. He has a long road to recovery ahead. Any help, even if it's only prayers is greatly appreciated. As of yet, no suspects have been apprehended.
