A couple of days ago, my older sister, Patience, her husband, Beau, and their 4 children- 12 and under, escaped from a religious cult that they’ve lived in their whole lives. They left with zero money, the clothes on their back and a few essential belongings, and came to Virginia Beach for the time being while we figure out a game plan. The rest of my family and I were not prepared financially or physically for this, but we are doing the best we can to keep them fed and have a roof over their heads while they get on their feet.

To add to the stress, they were involved in a car accident in a rental on the way here and we didn’t have adequate insurance so we are trying to figure out how to afford those expenses.

We need to get them set up with basic necessities including a working car, a place to rent, and food and clothing.
