In Memory of Katongo

Amanda fell in love with Katongo when they were both at university in South Africa. After years of long distance with Amanda traveling back and forth to Zambia and Katongo visiting The US she decided to take the leap and move across the world! She loved the perks of the job at Virgin America and how it provided the tools to facilitate these crazy adventures for 2.5 years.

She has been living in Zambia now for almost 6 years and had a most lovely engagement, beautiful wedding and countless other amazing experiences with her soulmate, Katongo. The top of the cake was that coming into this new year they were expecting a baby and that is what she and Katongo were most excited for!

Amanda however tragically lost her husband Katongo in a car accident this past weekend. This devastating loss happened less than 48hours after she gave birth a few weeks early to their first child, a son called Paxton.

What was supposed to be the start of the next exciting part in their journey together took an extremely wrong twist and it is only now in this most difficult time as she is across the world with a brand new baby and a future to plan do I ask for your kindness as she maneuvers through all the highs and lows in this next stage of life.
