Fundraiser for Boris's family

It is really hard for me to write this post as I was raised with an idea that asking for help is inappropriate and even shameful as it exposes your vulnerability and weakness. For the past couple of years I’ve learned that showing your vulnerability is not necessarily a bad thing but on the contrary could be a sign of strength and self-awareness. It means that you know your limits and will ask for help when it’s necessary.

Many of you know that I was in a major car accident back on December 14th. I was on my way to work when suddenly my car was hit from behind, I lost control, collided with a big rig and rolled over 3-4 times across 101 freeway. I remember every flip of the car and the whole time I was praying to survive. When it finally stopped, I was able to get out of my car like James Bond and was taken to the nearest hospital. Everybody told me that the fact that I got out of it unharmed is a miracle and I think of that day as my second birthday.

Many of you reached out and expressed your love and compassion to me and my family. We are incredibly grateful to all of you for all the support.

Unfortunately, this accident pushed us way back financially in our goals and dreams. We’ve been living in a tiny home for over a year now with two kids, trying to get out of debt and save money to buy our first home. We even found the home that checked all the boxes for us. All that is holding us back from purchasing it is our freshly acquired debt.

For the past two weeks we have experienced  the most unusual holiday time ever as we dealt with the aftermath of the accident both emotionally and financially.

As much as I still hesitate to write this it looks like it’s time to ask for help. No help is too small and every bit will help us to get a little bit closer to our dream.

Thank you all so much and Happy Holidays to all of you!
