Jon Swanners story

As many know Jon was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma in April. This is a rare form of salivary gland tumor which accounts for only 1% of all head and neck cancers.
In July the tumor was removed, but the planned titanium plate and graft did not take, and after fighting a major infection from a blood clot that almost took Jons life and 22 days in the hospital, jon was released home to heal as the 1% of people who have this type of surgerys that fail... that would be the outcome, BUT that's not the end of this story
FAST forward 5 months, radiation has been given & completed in January we will return to surgeon to see if radiation got the small bits of cancer that was left after the tumor was removed at the nerve level is all gone!
Jon has been fighting the good fight, but this cancer has really beat his body down as he's lost about 40 pounds & his rotation in his arm requires constant physical therapy to hopefully get Jon back to 80% out of 100%
On December 1st, he lost his insurance due to not enough hours at his union job that he cannot return to because he is physically and mentally not able to return to work yet, and we haven been given a return to work date.
Right now is no time to change Insurance carriers or start looking for different doctors.
The bill each month to keep Cobra insurance will continue until Jon is capable of returning to work, and this will allow jon to take care and heal properly.
I dont know if this is the best path but I am doing my very best to keep our life flowing while my husband recovers.
This is hard for me to ask, but I wasn't expecting this one.
As so much if this rides on one of us it affects us both.
Thank you so much everything helps us in our cancer journey.
