Say Aye for Sophia
Donation protected
Little Sophia is the 3 year old great granddaughter of Joann Partridge, the granddaughter of Sherry Weber and the niece of Sheila Weber. She was, recently, diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in her right eye. This disease would, progressively, leave her blind. In order to save her left eye surgeons, at Children’s Hospital – Dallas, had to remove the right eye. The operation was a success! Doctors are confident that the cancer has been removed thus, potentially, saving the vision in Sophia's left eye.
The family is hoping that Medicaid will cover the majority of the hospital/surgeons' fees. However, they have been advised that the cost for a prosthetic eye is not covered by Medicaid. The estimated cost for the eye is between $8 – 10,000. The prosthetic will have to be replaced every 3 – 4 years until she is an adult.
A “GOFUNDME” page has been set up to help raise necessary funds to help the family offset and manage these costs. The page “Say Aye for Sophia” will be the collection vehicle for all donations. All donations will be directed for the cost of the prosthetic eye and other special medical expenses incurred not covered by Medicaid.
Thank you in advance for your donation.
