If you're reading this, you know me as the owner of Holy Snip Hair Salon here in Five Point community of Huntsville, AL. For the past almost 5 years, this business has been my lifeblood, my passion, and my way of contributing to our wonderful community. I've always been proud to serve you, by making you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself.
Today, I am sharing some incredibly difficult news: I was diagnosed with breast cancer on April 29, 2025. This diagnosis has upended my world and, unfortunately, threatens the stability of the business I’ve worked so hard to build. From that day forward I was rushed through a series of appointments, imaging, surgeries and appointments. As you can imagine these co-pays and deductibles have already began to add up. I took my 1st chemo treatment on 5/22/2025 and thought I had some time before my body began to feel those effects because my Dr told me the extreme fatigue would start to set in on the 3rd or 4th treatments. Those of yall that know me know that I am the one that has always worked multiple jobs on top of the 12-14hr days in the salon so for me to be limited on what I can do has been extremely hard for me. Not only that but I've always been the one to go and do for the family and that has been limited as well. While I am trying to stay positive and rest as I need to it's still so very hard for me. I keep telling myself that God is trying to teach me to be humble and rely on others that I have helped throughout the years. He is also probably trying to slow me down a little as well which is probably needed but doesn't make it any easier. Having to rely on anyone is very hard for me, ask my husband. Hahaha. He will probably tell you I am the most stubborn selfless person he knows. I will continue to update my journey via Facebook and TikTok.

The Road Ahead: Treatment and Unpaid Leave...
My medical team has confirmed the need for immediate and aggressive treatment, including 17 rounds of chemotherapy, double mastectomy with reconstruction, immunotherapy and possible radiation . While I am focusing every ounce of my energy on this fight, the treatment requires me to step away from my business more than I would like, approximately 50% or more at times.
For a small business owner like me, there are no paid sick days or disability benefits waiting. I will be out of work, without any income, for a minimum of four crucial weeks as I recover from surgery.
This campaign is my lifeline. It ensures that I can keep the doors of Holy Snip Hair Salon open in the future and, most importantly, allows me to focus 100% on healing without the crushing stress of financial ruin.

Where Your Generosity Goes..
I have been so fortunate to have the support of my friends and family, but the financial realities of cancer treatment and losing a month's worth of income are overwhelming.
The $10,000 goal we have set will cover two major areas:
Medical Expenses: My insurance deductibles, co-pays for scans and appointments, and out-of-pocket costs for medications and specialized care (e.g., physical therapy, wigs).
Business & Living Expenses: This is the most critical area. These funds will directly cover essential costs during my unpaid leave, including:
Rent/Mortgage: Ensuring I don't lose my home.
Health Insurance Premiums: So my treatment isn't interrupted.
Business Overhead: Paying rent on my shop/studio and utilities so that Holy Snip Hair Salon can remain open for when I'm strong enough to return.
Every dollar raised allows me to spend less time worrying about bills and more time resting, fighting, and healing.

A Call to My Community...
This is not easy for me to ask, but I need your help now more than ever.
If you have ever enjoyed a moment at Holy Snip Hair Salon , if you've ever appreciated the feeling of being your most beautiful self and quality conversation please consider donating or sharing my story with your network.
I am fighting for my life, and this community can help save my livelihood too. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, your prayers, and your support. I know God has big plans for my story. I promise to keep you updated on my journey back to health and back behind the chair. Any help is appreciated while we are in this season that our income is going to be impacted based on limited hours, having to quit my second job and the extra medical expenses.
