To begin, let me introduce this AMAZING young lady, Traci Murray-Mussetter. She had so many titles: daughter, sister, aunt, wife, step mom, step-grandma, friend, mentor, boss, etc. With each of these roles, she's had such a POSITIVE influence on so many people. She would spend countless hours helping anyone who needed her. Her patience for teaching, coaching and just listening to understand was just a few of her best attributes. She put everything and everyone FIRST, except for herself.
In the fall of 2018, during one of her holiday kick off meetings, she got the call that turned her world upside down.
-STAGE 3 Lung Cancer-
She wouldn’t share that news with us until much much later. Instead, she once again to put others first. She came back into the meeting and made sure her team was set of for success!
In a short time and a few tests later, she would later find out that it had metastasized to her brain. Her stage 3 just became stage 4. She continued to work and support her team, continued to push through the side effects of the treatments because in her words, "it's business as usual!"
Later in 2019, she took a leave of absence to FINALLY focus on her health. She pushed herself to recover, doing anything and everything to BEAT this. Both, friends and family kept researching, looking for something else that she could try to give her hope, even it was just a little bit .. just something to keep her fighting! The tumor in the lung started shrinking, ever so slightly. That was the hope that she needed to grab on to. As the tumor was shrinking, her counts were improving, she decided to return to work. She didn't want to let her team down, and go through holiday without her support! I'll never forget that day she surprised us at our 2019 holiday meeting! We almost couldn't concentrate because she was there. We had so many questions. But, she made sure that we stayed focused.
Fast forward, 2020, and we all know what hit us all in March. Just before the shutdown, she realized that it was getting too risky with the virus spreading so fast. She went on long term medical leave. She spent that time with her family and her new found passion, GOATS! It's fitting that she loved her goats, because that's another one of her titles! She is the (GOAT) GREATEST of ALL TIME in everything she did!
Moving forward to 2021, the tumors in her brain started growing very aggressively. After exasperating any and all available treatments, she was told there was nothing else they could do. In April, she told me that she was given 4 months to live, and sadly, they weren't the easiest months for her. I have to say, I've watched so many friends and family members fight similar fights. None fought it like she did.
On Thursday, August 5th, Traci lost her battle. We are all devastated and heart broken. Traci was first my boss, but, through time, became friends.
During her fight, I offered to start a "go fund me" page to help her out with the expenses of treatments that insurance didn't cover. She thought about it, and then said, “I don't want to use resources that my family will need when I'm gone.” I made a promise that I would do my best to make sure that her husband, Todd, and family would be taken care of. Mind you, Todd and the family have not asked for a thing. Honestly, his only request was to honor her by treating ppl with kindness and respect the way she did. ❤️
If you can, we're asking for anything you can do to help us reach our goal! Traci gave us EVERYTHING, we OWE it to her to take care of what she couldn't do herself!
Thank you!
