I’m Mark Batres, a runner and shark FINatic! I’m doing the Run To Save The Sharks fundraiser to raise awareness and support shark conservation. For the third year, all of the donations will benefit an amazing organization called ORGCAS- they are doing great work to provide data to extend marine protected areas and revitalize the marine populations, including sharks. The thing that inspires me most is that they are helping former shark fishermen transition to ecotourism and research excursions. I had the opportunity to meet one of the former fishermen and he told me he was grateful and this opportunity changed his life, because like me, he LOVES SHARKS!
