Urgent dental help
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jacqui and I am a victim of a one punch assault which caused severe damage to my top jaw, cheek and teeth.
I have been through the Victims of Crime organization here in Qld but the dentists who completed the required care did not activate the plates correctly.
Victims of Crime in Qld have advised there is no additional support available and I am to live like this.
The overall procedure at the time entailed bone grafting, 6 x 3 inch screws and a top plate.
This was completed and, at the time, seemed to be a success.
It has been 3 years since the final procedure.
I have now had 4 of the 6 screws fall out with one now also impacting my jaw as it is falling out and leaning to the side.
The current system continues to tell me they cannot help me as they do not cover specialist work.
The dentists who completed the work are taking no accountability for the plates never being activated which in turn has caused the screws to not sit correctly and the issues to continue.
This procedure was meant to be a stable solution for the next 10 years plus.
Without fronting the cost of fixing this now, I'm concerned I will lose my whole top jaw.
I'm in constant pain in my mouth, jaw and neck.
The tension headaches are debilitating and as a single mother on government support due to medical restrictions, there's no possible way I could do this.
I'm asking for help.
