On August 4th, 2018, our farm was in the path of a raging wildfire. Instead of evacuating, our parents decided to stay and protect our home because it is all we have. The fire had reached our property and destroyed many things including our washing machine, porta potty, crops, farming tools, and more. In addition, we lost one of our family dogs because she suffocated from the smoke while staying close to our father as he was fighting the flames. In the midst of all this chaos, the corner of our house had also caught fire, but our father bravely put it out with the garden hose before it could spread to the remainder of the home. We kindly ask for our family, friends, and the community for your support in any way possible to help us in our most toughest times. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Even if you cannot support us monetarily, just sharing this page would help. All proceeds of this campaign will be used to fix our irrigation system, replace the washing machine and coolers that we used to store perishables, purchase new fertilizer, farming tools, and materials to repair the portion of the home that was burnt. Additional money is planned to go towards purchasing new plants/crop seeds. Our family invested a lot of money and more importantly, time that we could never get back, into plants that were destroyed on Saturday. There's no way to replace the time and effort that was put into the farm, but we hope that some costs to start again could be alleviated through the help of others. Anything will help get us back on our feet for our long way back to a normal life. Whether you are able to help or not, our family would like to express our gratitude and thank you all for the amazing support. Through all the love that we've already received in this hardship, it really proves that there are still many good people in the world who want to sincerely help others. Our family is determined to get through this together. At the end of the day, we are grateful that we still have a place to call home and grateful that we still have one another. We are broken, but still standing. In closing, we'd like to thank you again for your time and attention to this matter. Please share this page if you can.
