You're probably curious as to what this page is about so let me fill you in:
In May of 2017, I will be traveling to Pokhara, Nepal for a two-week volunteer nursing internship in a local hospital through the "Work the World" program. Through this internship, I will have the opportunity to care for patients in a hospital setting very different from what we experience here in the United States. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, with almost one-third of its population living under the poverty line. Being able to take part in caring for those who have limited access to proper healthcare is what makes this trip so unique. Before my brother Pat died, I made a promise to him that we would one day visit Nepal and volunteer to help those in need together. This volunteer internship is my way of keeping this promise and I know he'll be there with me every step of the way.
My out-of-pocket cost to participate in this program will total in $2,900. This cost includes food, housing, transportation within Pokhara, and flights. With your kindness, I will be able to cover these costs and be on my way to help our friends in Nepal!
