Allan Darger’s Cancer Journey-A Road To Recovery
Family and friends,
Some of you may already know Allan’s story, but some of you may not... However, almost all of you know our amazing dad, Allan W Darger!
At the beginning of April, Allan was admitted to the Huntsman Cancer Research Center. After 5 nights in the hospital, 2 biopsies, MRI, CT & PET Scans, we were sent home to wait for results. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which has been aggressively attacking most of his body.
After his initial diagnosis, Allan made the decision to forgo chemo and went through extensive measures to treat his cancer at home with alternative methods. Throughout this process, we were faced with incredible responsibility, as well as medical costs that were not covered by his insurance.
At this time Allan has lost over 50 lbs over a 6 month period and over 70 lbs in the last year. He is experiencing chronic fatigue and brain fog, to the point that he cannot stand on his own for more than a few seconds. He is mostly bedridden, and dealing with a lot of pain. Two weeks ago, Allan was admitted back into the Huntsman Cancer Center due to his health continuing to decline. We decided to run more scans to see if his alternative treatments were working, but sadly, the cancer has continued to aggressively spread through his body. With this new information, Allan recently made the decision to move forward with Chemotherapy.
A lot of our close family and friends have been doing everything to help him face this diagnosis head-on, but we are still facing financial hardship on top of trying to have a family member with him at all times.
At this point, we feel the need to reach out for your help to allow our dad to continue with his treatments and relieve some of the hardship our family is currently facing. Your time and monetary contributions are immensely appreciated. We all appreciate your love and support in this journey to bring Allan’s heath back to life.
Please reach out if you’d be interested in spending time with him. Allan absolutely loves to spend his time visiting with friends and family!
Much love, the Darger children
