Many of you know Andrian Makowsky, who has been fighting stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma (stomach cancer) since the spring of 2025. This past year has been incredibly challenging, overwhelming, and emotionally exhausting for him and his family.

Since his diagnosis, every two weeks he has been traveling for chemotherapy and numerous medical appointments. Many of these trips require multiple-day stays, creating significant additional expenses for travel, accommodations, and time away from work and home. Unfortunately, the Canadian healthcare system has provided limited options, and he has been advised and encouraged to seek further care elsewhere.

In February, Andrian will be travelling to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he has been given hope for clearer answers, more detailed explanations, and, most importantly, the possibility of improved treatment options. We pray they can offer a cure, or at the very least, help reduce the pain and side effects he continues to endure.

He and his family are deeply grateful for the many friends and loved ones who have supported them throughout this journey, especially as we continue farming. This has brought its own challenges during this difficult time. Those who know Andrian know he is a hardworking, dedicated man who has been remarkably positive through his diagnosis. He still has so much to look forward to in the years ahead, including watching his children grow and being part of their lives.

The costs associated with this journey are substantial, including medical care, travel, accommodations, and related expenses, particularly given that they live hours away from specialized care. This fundraiser is intended to help alleviate some of the financial stress so Andrian can focus fully on his health and receiving the care he deserves. Andrian and April are thankful for the care, kindness, and support they have received throughout this journey. Private donations can also be made at Crossroads Credit Union in “Andrian’s Medical and Recovery Fund.”
