Our hearts have been heavy over the past couple of weeks as we have learned that Jessica’s colon cancer has returned and metastasized. We are in the process of gathering all of the information, reviewing the research and literature, and meeting with a number of specialists to determine the best course of action. Jessica has had one surgery already, which has been helpful, but there is more treatment necessary in order to fight this. We are not sure of the exact details yet, but it will likely involve more chemotherapy and more surgery in addition to other integrative approaches that we are investigating. Jessica had to abruptly stop working and is unable to return for the near future. The medical expenses are quickly accumulating. In addition, she needs help with her day-to-day living expenses, including caring for Jake. So many people have been incredibly supportive, and everyone is asking how they can help and what they can do.
