Our friend and colleague Manny Balbona has been recently diagnosed with a brain tumor called a Glioblastoma.  Manny is scheduled for surgery on Monday June 15th and as you can all imagine he and his family have a long and uncertain journey ahead.  They are optimistic and hopeful as he readies for his surgery and for whatever new information is obtained at that time to most effectively fight this battle. 

All who know Manny and have worked with him in ICU, ER, Float Pool, etc. know how much he truly cares for his patients and his co workers and how his sense of humor and knowledge base has carried many through very difficult times.  

The emotional, physical and financial burdens will be many as Manny will be out of work for an extended leave of absence.   It is my hope that through any size donations, we as friends, family, colleagues, and perhaps even strangers :) can help alleviate the burden for this wonderful family.

Let us keep Manny and his family in our thoughts and prayers.
