While travelling through Siem Reap, I came across the New Dream of Cambodian Children Organisation (NDCCO) — and it stopped me in my tracks. What started with one man’s determination to learn has grown into something incredible, something that’s changing lives every single day.
NDCCO was founded by Kimlean Voeun, who, at just 13 years old, walked three days without food or water to reach the city in search of an education. With the help of a monastery, he learned English and eventually built a new life for himself. Instead of keeping that success to himself, he turned it into a mission to help others.
In 2014, Kimlean started teaching English for free to local children who couldn’t afford school. Four years later, NDCCO became an official NGO, and today it provides free English lessons, daily meals, and community support to more than 260 children aged six to seventeen. These kids aren’t just learning English, they’re being given hope. For many of them, NDCCO is the only place they get a proper meal, a safe space, and the belief that their future can be different. I set up this fundraiser because I’ve seen what a difference NDCCO makes.
Every donation helps provide meals, pay teachers, buy classroom supplies, and support projects that tackle malnutrition and illiteracy in the community. Even the smallest contribution has a real impact, it keeps a child in school, helps them grow in confidence, and gives them the tools to build a better life for themselves and their families. What Kimlean and his team are doing is genuinely inspiring. With a bit of support, they can reach even more children and keep this amazing work going. Together, we can help keep Cambodia’s children learning, laughing, and dreaming of brighter futures.
