Hi my name is Josie and I am looking to raise funds for Johan DeKlerk who is just like a father to me. Johan was in a terrible motorcycle vs pick up truck accident on September 22, 2023. He was transported to North Western Kishwaukee Hopsital in Dekalb and then was later flown by helicopter to OSF Trauma center in Rockford due to the extent of his injuries.

Johan is currently in critical condition and is on a ventilator because he cannot currently breathe on his own. He is sedated and has not been conscious since the accident. He has multiple broken ribs, a broken femur and fibula in his left leg with minimal pulse. He has already had surgery due to internal bleeding, has had his spleen removed, as well as a section of his pancreas . He has a small brain bleed and head injuries. As of Friday he already went through 9 units of blood.

Johan recently lost his job at the beginning of August due to his company closing and he is without medical insurance at this time. Therefore, the medical bills are going to have a major impact on the family financially as he still will need to undergo multiple surgeries and has many, many months of recovery ahead of him.
