I started this GoFundMe for my cousin, Kristi [Williams] Hill & her family. On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, their family home caught fire in the laundry room, successfully damaging the laundry room & Kristi's home office / craft room (her source of income!) The whole family was home, but managed to escape with no injuries (praise GOD!) They evacuated the home & found a hotel room until they could arrange for next steps to repair their home... Then, on Friday, March 24, 2023 they returned to the house to find the fire had reignited & finished off the whole interior of their brick home! Now the Hill family will be indefinitely displaced until they can attain new housing [I will update with their plan when they have one.]
You may wish to know how I derived the goal amount to raise. Here's the breakdown:
30 days living expenses:
@ $150 / day for lodging = $4500*
@ $120 / day for food for a family of 4 ($10 / person x 3 meals a day!!) = $3600*
I am also asking for help to pay their home owner's insurance deductible, which I am assuming until I get a true answer. Typically the deductible is at least $5000.
*Yes, they can get these things for less, but they will also need other necessities like toiletries, school supplies, additional expenses to commute to school & work, etcetera!!
Lastly, this great tool called GoFundMe has bills to pay & I am told they take 17% of your earnings.
I just wanted everyone to know why the number is so great. Truthfully, $15k probably won't cover all their loss, but this is somewhere to start!
Kristi & Adam have spent their lives dedicated to helping others. When she was physically well enough to work she worked in a nursing home caring for our elderly, then in the school feeding our children. Adam has also chosen to be a hero, as he works & volunteers at the sheriff's office & the fire department. Let's show our appreciation by supporting them in their time of need.
This family has been through so much heartache & tribulations in life before this tragedy occurred, and now another harsh blow came their way. Maybe we can ease the pain by showing our love for them!

Kristi had such a cute living room.
I speak on behalf of the whole Williams family when I express appreciation for any donation you can manage! Thank you!
