This fundraiser is to help cover my fiance Nate's hospital and medical expenses while he recovers from a heart attack. On Tuesday, August 30th we were enjoying our time at the beach when Nate started experiencing chest pain, and numbness in his left arm. He was taken by ambulance, where he flatlined for 2.5 minutes before arriving at the local hospital. It was confirmed that it was a heart attack and he had immediate surgery to place a stent in the clogged artery. He then spent 2 full nights in the ICU. His chest and ribs are very sore from the compressions, and the pressure was enough to pop the blood vessels in his eyes(hence the redness).
Nate is on the way to recovery, but this was very unexpected and a shock to all of us. He's generally very healthy and takes care of himself but COVID played a huge part in it. This couldn't have happened at a worse time. He was due to start his new position after we got back from vacation but understandably he'll be out of work for a couple of weeks. Even still, there will be lapse in coverage until he becomes eligibile in 90 days so none of the services provided will be covered. We appreciate all the love, prayers, and support.
