Landing on My Feet

In November of 2016 I had a surgery to remove a tumor in my spine that left me paralyzed from the waist down.  For two years I have been working hard to recover and get back onto my feet. When I first got home from Spaulding Rehab, I started going to Project Walk which is a   gym that specialized paralysis recovery, I went there for six or seven months before stopping because the commute was hard and it was expensive. After I discontinued going there I started working out at a gym in Lebanon, NH called Wayne's World. I trained with Wayne for just over a year, and regained the use of my large muscle groups while working with him. Recently I have started going back to Project Walk. I first went back in October and I have been continuing to go for the past five months. I have gotten to the point with my progress that it would be very beneficial for me to return to a high intensity inpatient facility. My trainers at Project Walk suggested I go to Kennedy Kreiger which is also know as the International Center for Spinal Cord Injuries. Unlike most rehab centers Kennedy Kreiger doesn't just want to make people independent living in a chair, they want to get them independent out of the chair. That's my goal too. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my journey, and shared my story, I have felt your love.
