Support Xavier Rice's Journey to Health

Everyone, meet Xavier Eugene Rice! We are all so proud of him already! Xavier was born 8 weeks early due to no growth Doppler reading during an ultrasound. His momma was rushed to OSU and from then on Baby boy has been nothing less than keeping us all on our toes!! Asia was rushed into emergency surgery as his heart rate fluctuated at very dangerous levels & severe consistent contractions. During operation we found out that Xavier is no where near out of the woods yet, being born at 2 lbs, 11oz! He has a massive team of doctors behind him and is in the best care he could ever possibly be in Childrens Nationwide Hospital. Xavier is having trouble breathing on his own and has a CPAP machine applying pressure to expand his lungs so they do not collapse. He is too tiny to consume food and is receiving nutrients via IV and tube port to his belly. We are also now finding out that baby boy will have an overwhelming number of appointments after his discharge. Mom and Dad will need to travel back and forth from Lima to Columbus on a weekly basis for him as Lima is not equipped with the type of care he needs to be able to come home. Here recently, Darrick and Asia have been tasked with a very hard decision in the next few days to decide if they are leaving him in Columbus or can somehow manage to stay with him. Our goal is to keep them as close as possible in case his health changes. Unfortunately, they have missed too much work & Xavier does not have a set date to go home, and the earliest we are being told is a month or more out. After a bunch of consideration and hesitation, we have decided to reach out to friends and family for help ❤️‍ They typically are always prepared for situations to arise, but we did not expect this to happen to them so suddenly. If anyone would like to donate to Xavier Rice to help Mom and Dad stay in Columbus longer and to help with their team of kiddos, we would greatly appreciate it. They are struggling to obtain funds for the future to take care of him. We understand times are tough, and we do not expect anything in return.
