Anthony Needs Your Help!

My name is Dawn Roman, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Tanya Spennato and her husband, Anthony Spennato. Tanya is not only my best friend of almost 40 years but also a sister to me. We have faced many challenges together, but the most challenging situation is upon us.

Our precious friend, husband, father, son, and brother Anthony is fighting a battle that no one should ever have to fight - the fight against cancer.

Anthony is only 37 years old. He is a loving husband of 11 years and father to three young boys; Anthony, 11, Lorenzo, 9; Lucas, 7; and stepfather to three older children; Wilbert, 26; Sierra, 21; and Elijah, 16.

On Friday, December 2nd, Anthony was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. They received the news that no one ever wants to hear. You have cancer. He is still in the beginning stages and undergoing tests to determine next steps but as of now we know that the cancer has spread to many places in his body. He has a fractured hip and neck as a result of the progression and is in an immense amount of pain. We will update Anthony’s story as we find out more information.

Anthony has been out of work for a few weeks now due to the pain he is in. No more paychecks are coming in, and this family is currently surviving on one income. Already behind on bills and with Christmas around the corner, a cancer diagnosis is just too much for this family to bear. Aside from the struggles with this diagnosis, their oldest son Anthony is autistic and will require additional emotional support to cope with the abrupt change in his life. The financial strain is already a burden, and there are so many unknowns moving forward. The funds raised will help this family provide a Christmas for their children, put food on the table, and keep a roof over their heads for the foreseeable future.

This is the season of giving and I hope you can find it in your heart to help his family have the hope and security they need to move forward despite the many challenges and unknowns that lie ahead.
