My name is Taylor, I’m 23 years old and I have Gastroparesis, and Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. Gastroparesis is a condition where your stomach is paralyzed and loses its function to absorb nutrients, so anytime I eat or drink something my body rejects it, I get nauseated, bloated, acid reflux, and sometimes pain, my symptoms got so bad I dropped to 77 pounds and landed myself in the emergency room for severe malnutrition, my blood levels were very poor, which resulted in a feeding tube I got 3 weeks ago, I spent 2 weeks in the ER at MUSC in Charleston due to complications, and finally ended up coming home to Tennessee this past Sunday.
This morning I woke up to my machine saying it was blocked and not flowing, so I tried to flush my tube with water and realized there was a hole in it, I can no longer use it, so I am on the way back to see my specialist in Charleston (a 6.5 hour drive) to try and get this resolved. We have traveled back and forth a lot because of these issues and just trying to find a solution so I can get the nutrients I need. It has been very hard because we have been unable to work due to being in the hospital so much, anything counts and everything helps, thanks so much.
