Nate The Great

Nathan was working at his job of road repairs up at Virginia Minnesota and had been having difficulty breathing and had a  cough. Thinking he had a cold or bronchitis he went to a clinic to “get some good cough medicine”.  After some tests were run spots were found in his lungs and a spot found in his head, and possibly a spot on his kidney. He was sent by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. His stay there began on Tuesday, July 31st. On Thursday, August 2nd he was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. The cancer he has is Extragonodal Choriocarcinoma

August 3rd 2018
Nate had his first round of chemotherapy. It was a combination of two different types of chemo. He has not had any side effects thus far. The plan is to continue with chemo treatments. There are no surgeries planned and Dr. Ketchum (Dr. Ketchup as Nate calls him) says he should be able to have a complete recovery but Nate is looking at about 4 months of chemo.
We are grateful for all your prayers and words of encouragement.

August 4th
Nate had his second round of chemotherapy. Still no side effects which is great news!!! Now it is just a waiting game and seeing how the side effects are after a couple days as its known they can be overwhelming and exhausting.  The doctors are thinking it will still be a good 2-3 weeks for his stay in Duluth!
