Fundraiser for new car after flood.
Hello beloved community!
On June 26th, there was massive flooding in Detroit after some torrential downpours. Some areas of the city were affected more than others and Curtis’s neighborhood was one of them. At one point their vehicle (and entire neighborhood) was submerged under more than 4 feet of water at the street level, as seen in the video above. Which also means basements flooded to the first floor - more than 7ft of water. Once the waters cleared enough for a tow, they got it to a shop to evaluate the damage and sadly her little car was totaled. No more is the “Scarab” -- this was no regular car for Curtis, it was the vehicle they loved so much and was much more than just transportation. With its pull-out seats and plastic hose-able inside, they used this car to transport food for their catering company as well. Much more than a car was lost that day. I started this GoFund Me to help cover the costs of replacing her sweet Scarab. If we can raise the entire amount proposed here then some of this money will also go toward replenishing costs they have had to spend on alternate transportation to and from work during this car-less time.
All donation amounts are truly appreciated, thank you so much in advance for your love and support. Even if you can’t contribute something now, consider sharing this GoFund Me with your friends, family and networks! Let’s get Curtis back on the road asap. If you live in the Detroit area and know of good cars for sale, please email me.
Much love & gratitude!
