Liver Transplant

Hello all, My Name is Suzanne Sheppard, and I am raising funds for my lifesaving living-donor liver transplant surgery. This cause will help support the insurmountable debt and expenses (medical bills, lodging expenses, travel, etc....) that I have incurred due to my liver disease diagnoses.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 liver disease over thirteen years ago in 2011. My health has slowly deteriorated during the last 13 years. In addition to my Stage Four (4) liver diseases, I was diagnosed with liver cancer in early 2023. The surgical transplant team recommended a liver transplant as a lifesaving medical treatment, and I was added to the liver transplant list.

The surgical transplant team also conferenced with my family and I about the benefits of a living-donor liver transplant. The surgical transplant team has already successfully completed a living-donor liver transplant in early 2023.

A living-donor liver transplant occurs when an individual donates a portion of their healthy liver to someone with advanced liver disease. A living-donor liver transplant procedure would reduce the wait time of receiving the lifesaving medical treatment required.

My family and I were excited about the opportunity of a living-donor liver transplant and without hesitation, my two children immediately volunteered to be evaluated to be my living-donor. They both underwent the living-donor evaluation, and both are a match! Keshonna, my daughter with her generous spirit and her being the oldest, insisted that she be my living-donor for the liver transplant. Keshonna and I are in the final stages of prepping for the living-donor liver transplant surgery.
