I created this to help my sister Katy Hamilton.  Thank you for taking the time to read it. Katy has unexpectedly been hit with so many things at once. Hoping to help her out until the end of this crazy year. Here is their story...

It has been me and my Mom since I was 8 years old. She loved me more than life itself and I never had to wonder if I mattered to her. Girl scout leader, yard duty, class trip coordinator. She skipped meals, dates, new clothes and time to herself in order to make sure I had everything I needed.

She faced down demon after demon all while keeping dinner on the table, a roof over our heads and smile on her face. She put herself through college, she raised a teenager and she showed me what not giving up looks like.

Fast forward to my son Robbie.  He had her heart from day one. They had a relationship that all Grandmas would hope for. Every Friday was their doughnut breakfast. He held her hand, he helped her with everything.  She sang him lullabies when he had a migraine and they shared her love of books. 

She touched hundreds of children's lives as a preschool teacher. I think she did it as long as she did because the joy on their faces is what filled her heart with joy. She loved working with young children. She took her job so personally that she came home in tears when she listened to how families were struggling. She would gather donations, use her own money and help more than necessary.  She had more battles than any one soul should have, but she fought with grace and courage until her heart had enough.

Mom, you were right about everything. I wish I had made you a priority, I wish I had made some different choices while you were here, so many things I wanted you to know, to see.  You taught me well, my Mama, Robbie and I will get through this. Everybody who loved you has supported us and prayed that your arms wrap around us. Send me all the pennies you can. I miss you my Mama..I will always miss you.
