Save the Tomato!

Donation protected
This past winter was brutal for KC, and particularly the restaurant industry.  We made it, but just barely.  Then the smooth ownership transition we began in October hit some very unexpected snags.  We've made it through but it's put us in a precarious financial position.  After a brief closure to gather ourselves and repair the damage of the past couple months, we will reopen just shy of our Lucky 13th birthday.

The You Say Tomato community has always been the kindest, most gracious group of people I've had the privilege of knowing, and now we're asking for help.  Every little bit digs us out of the hole, but we also understand that not everyone who wants to can contribute financially.  We'll take hugs, well wishes and words of encouragement too!

Our first priority is taking care of our employees for the time already worked as the upcoming payroll is processed.  Second will be payroll during the closure.  Keeping these loyal, hard working folks paid means they won't have to look for other employment.  Plus, the more people I can put to work, the faster we reopen!

Next are legal fees and all the usual suspects...rent, utilities, insurance, etc. that still have to be paid even though we're closed.  If there's anything left we will use it to complete much needed equipment repairs and building improvements.

Family is what you make it, and our customers and employees are a part of ours.  We look forward to a future full of delicious food and scrumptious treats.

XOXO Annie & George (with Mark & Randy cheering us on)
