Dear family, friends and friends of friends,
Some of my life long friends banded together to help put this together for me because I am too sick to write it. I am the owner of the account to shield them from any rare quirky matters related to taxation. To all those out there with a loved one fighting cancer, fight on!

Our Robin is a strong, caring, hard working wife and mother who is facing breast cancer for the second time in her life. She is also the sole income earner for her family of three that includes a teenage son and husband. Several years ago she had lumpectomy, chemo and radiation. In November 2016, she required a double mastectomy for her stage III breast cancer. She will be undergoing 16 chemo treatments and then radiation therapy over next 5 months. This is a very uncertain and stressful time for her, her family and all who care about her.
We hope to give her some financial support so she can keep her mind and body focused on fighting the disease. Those challenges are big enough to handle on their own! But finances are a challenge as well.
Her income is being reduced significantly (by 40%) while she is unable to work. Their family will have NO income after the 2.5 months when her short-term disability ends, up until she is able to return to work. Now that she is in treatment, this income is not meeting the medical treatment costs and some of their living expenses. In addition to her expenses, there are upcoming medical expenses for her husband’s planned vascular surgeries. She also has daily challenges related to living with severe hearing loss. She had an expensive implant inserted in the past to preserve the small amount of hearing she has left. This too requires expensive equipment and ongoing medical care.
The family savings is drained via years of her being the unplanned sole wage-earner for the family. Medical expenses combined with income loss while on short-term disability are making her valiant fight against cancer even more stressful. As of January 18, 2017, she is on the third of 15 chemo treatments and experiencing many of the horrible side effects of extremely strong chemo. Her hearing loss is worsening and now her vision is blurring. While her doctors think the vision changes are temporary, the additional hearing loss change may not be. And she is experiencing nerve pain in her feet.
We are trying to raise $50,000 to cover copayments of medical expenses and living expense gap caused by reduced short-term disability income. Once short-term disability disbursements cease, this will leave her family with no source of income. Her out of pocket deductible expense alone for first 5 months of this year is $15,000. Then there will be copayments on top of that to cover the 3 different chemo meds and radiation treatments, office visits. On top of this, they need support for regular daily needs like food and utilities.
Your donation will help her and her family focus on fighting cancer by helping with the bills. Any help is greatly appreciated, and all of your prayers, support, help and love are so greatly appreciated.
