Hi. I'm Mia Levitsky and I'm doing the Run for Gus to raise money for an organization called Beads of Courage. Gus was a brave little boy who died from a brain tumor and was treated at Childrens Memorial
hospital in Chicago. Every year there is a run to raise money for pediatric cancer research and other organizations that help kids with cancer.
Beads of Courage is an amazing program because it helps kids in so many ways. Each time a child with cancer has a procedure they get a beautiful bead. For example, a child gets a glow in the dark bead when he/she has radiation treatment. Then they can make necklaces with their beads. It makes these awful procedures easier because they have something to look forward to at the end. I'm going to do the run and then volunteer at the Beads of Courage Booth at the Run for Gus on July 23. I was inspired to do this for my Bat Mitzvah project and I'm so glad to help these kids in any way I can. Below there is a link to read more about the Beads of Courage. Thank you for supporting me!
