Hi, my name is Enzo and I'm a non-binary person that is looking to have gender affirming top surgery this year.
I have currently been researching doctors and looking at my insurance to see if I could get top surgery covered. Unfortunately, it seems very unlikely that insurance would cover it or that a surgeon would take it to cover expenses. I was in the process of looking at a consultation with one surgeon in the Plano area since I liked his results and he seems to have a reasonable price. I got delayed due to an increased workload and the passing of my grandmother. In the next month I plan to have consults and see the pricing of surgery.
There are a few reasons I am looking to get this surgery but I won't share them all for personal reasons. The main two are 1) to relieve my chronic back pain due to my chest size and 2) to finally feel comfortable in my body.
I am hoping to raise funds to cover surgery, post op care, and if there is any remainder I will pay it forward to a BIPOC fund to assist someone else with the gender affirming procedures they might need.
Thank you all and I hope to one day be free from this burden (pun intended).
Update:2025, feel kinda behind since I had to put this off for a few years due to medical complications that became a priority to focus on. I’m attempting to apply to law school and due to the political climate feel the need to get back into planning for this. I had hoped I could’ve saved money to put towards my surgery but had to use some funds to medical care I needed in 2023-2034 (just to be transparent to everyone that has been supporting this). There’s about three doctors I have on a short list and after I send off some law school apps, will be consulting to see what pricing will be like. Thank you for any support. It means a lot especially during this time. ❤️
