Despite adhering to the established procedures and obtaining the necessary approvals from HISD headquarters, I find myself unjustly terminated. Now two months later after returning to work. I am wrongfully terminated. Getting fired just weeks shy of Christmas, and just a year shy of my retirement. Furthermore, when attempting to avail myself of FMLA, my supervisor advised me to accrue leave hours— State leave, and Local leave—before submitting the FMLA application. This advice, coupled with the loss of employment, has left me in a precarious situation.
