On January 14, Osvaldo was leaving his home for work when he was unexpectedly stopped by ICE officers. Without being given a chance to explain or show his legal documents, he was detained and sent to Texas. Osvaldo and family are rightfully in the United States in the legal process of seeking asylum from Venezuela and has all the necessary paperwork to prove his status, but he was not given the opportunity to present it. While in Texas, he needed legal representation and will continue to need legal assistance during this process. Thankfully, Osvaldo was able to secure his release and return home to his family in Minnesota a week later.
