Debts are crushing my family
My children and I accepted Islam several years ago. Our change of faith is the most incredible blessing.
Becoming Muslim has meant leaving city, past, toxic habits, lifestyle and colleagues who mocked my new faith, behind. It impacted my career straight away. Jobs became harder to find in hijab despite my previous success.
Alhamdulillah, I love my deen and both children and I have stayed steadfast through tests to wealth and family.
Summer 2018 I am going through divorce. This means starting again, alone.
I own little and am content. I have part time work now alhamdulillah. My children and I are moving to a shared house to cut overheads inshaAllah.
I did not want to start this page as Allah will help as He wills.
But brothers who know me and my work both at community and dawa level have encouraged me to invite support from the Ummah we are eligible for Zakat.
I know the debts, accrued solely through raising my children and whilst seeking full time employment as best I can - displease Allah and put my akhira at risk.
It is a blessing to remove the debts of a practising brother or sister.
Allah can do anything. If He wills, this call will be heard.
I want to see my children laugh and smile again inshaAllah. When a mother smiles the child is happy mashaAllah.
