A charity anthology in memory of Sofia

A very special charity anthology, called Written in the Stars, has been created in memory of Sofia Lyons-O'Sullivan, and all net profits are in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and The Butterfly AVM Charity. 

I was inspired to create this anthology on what would have been my daughter’s third birthday. Sofia passed away, very unexpectedly, in 2020 aged just one and a half, due to a brain AVM (arteriovenous malformation) – something my family and I knew nothing about until then. It is a rare condition that she was very likely born with, but had shown no signs or symptoms.  I have done a lot of research since learning of AVMs, and this is how I found The Butterfly AVM Charity. They are a UK charity dedicated to raising awareness and money to fund research into AVMs and supporting families. Sofia spent five days at Great Ormond Street Hospital before we had to say goodbye. She was shown so much love and care by all the staff, and her nurses helped us make hand and foot imprints with her; something we will treasure forever.  

With the support of my partner Daniel and my son Leo, fantastic colleagues at Bloodhound Books and some amazing authors, we created Written in the Stars - a charity anthology full of short stories for you to enjoy.
