Wren's Walkeringham Challenge
Donation protected
6 year old Wren is being a super hero this summer holidays, taking on challenges to raise funds for a new sensory garden at Walkeringham Primary School.
Schools are often bright, noisy, and can easily make children feel overwhelmed, particularly those with special educational needs. A sensory garden is a safe space where children can use all their senses to experience nature, finding some calm in a busy day. We hope this area will benefit all the children at Walkeringham Primary School promoting outdoor education and mindful activities.
Along with her family, Wren will be undertaking some huge challenges so please support her as she tries to create a new happy space at school.
W Wild Swim in the Lakes
A Abseil in the Peaks
L Litter Picking. How many bags can we collect?
K Kayak across Lake Windermere
E Expedition with overnight wild camp in the Lakes
R Rock climbing and Scramble (outdoors) in the Peaks
I Indoor Climbing Wall
N Nature Walk to contribute to the Big Butterfly Count
G Gorge Walking in the Peaks
H Habitat building for insects to live in our sensory garden
A Ascend a Mountain in the Lakes
M Mountain Biking on the Monsal Trail.
This is what the areas looks like now. With any money donated, we hope to purchase plants to stimulate sight, touch, taste and smell, musical instruments, games, tools to look at nature close up and many other sensory enriching items. We hope you can support us. We will be posting updates on Wrens challenges so keep checking back to see what she's achieved.
Thank you in advance.
